Counselling

There is a reason, or possibly even multiple reasons, why you are here. Whatever your reason might be, I believe that counselling is about working through uncomfortable moments together, processing difficult feelings, and, most importantly, embracing growth, change and positive transformation.
I understand that talking about challenging aspects of your life may feel intimidating, at least at first, and it is my role to provide a non-judgemental, individualised, and honest space in which you feel safe
My aim is to support you in exploring issues within your life and, using the most appropriate strategies and techniques, help you to cope with emotional discomfort or distress. We will celebrate, not only your big victories, but each little step you take forward to a place of greater comfort. In short, my role as a counsellor is to support you to get to a place where you can live a happier and more fulfilled life.
My name’s Monika Zajac. I am an Integrative counsellor working in the three main approaches: Person-centred, Psychodynamic and Cognitive Behavioural therapy. Being an Integrative counsellor means that I can tailor my approach by using different modalities to suit your individual needs.
I was born in Poland and after years there working as a High School teacher, I moved to England and, later, trained in counselling. I often combine my expertise in these two professions by working with adolescents.
I have now enjoyed living in the UK for nearly 18 years.I have got over 6 years counselling experience, working with both young people and adults.
I am a qualified counsellor and registered member of BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy). I work with adults, young adults and adolescents.

I can support you with:

Anxiety
Depression
Stress
